The Theme Song! Barney is a dinosaur from our imagination, and when he's tall he's what we call a dinosaur sensation. Barney's friends are big and small they come from lots of places, after school they meet to play and sing with happy faces. Barney shows us lots of things like how to play pretend, ABCs and 123s and how to be a friend. Barney comes to play with us whenever we may need him, Barney can be your friend too if you just make believe him. |

| Barney And Friends Facts In August of 1988, Barney's first video, "The Backyard Show," starring Sandy Duncan was released In May of 1991, Baby Bop made her debut on home video in "Barney In Concert." In April of 1992, PBS began airing "Barney & Friends" which skyrocketed to the #1 program for children ages 2-5. In December of 1992, Barney appeared on the cover of "People Magazine" as one of the Most Intriguing People of 1992. In September of 1993, "Barney & Friends" introduced a new character BJ with 18 new shows. In March of 1994, Tickets for "Barney Live at Radio City Music Hall" sold out in 21 minutes, becoming one of the fasting selling shows in Radio City history. In April of 1994, Barney went international and Barney's first television special "Imagination Island," aired on NBC. In November of 1994, the Barney balloon made its first appearance in the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. In July of 1995, "A Day in the Park with Barney" opened at Universal Studios Florida. It recorded the highest rating ever of any attraction at the theme park. In November of 1995 PBS, aired 20 new episodes of "Barney & Friends." This is the last season of "Barney & Friends" with the characters Shawn, Tosha, Kathy, and Min. In July of 1996, "Barney's Big Surprise," his forst live stage show tour, hit the road to rave reviews and record crowds. In November of 1997, Twenty new "Barney & Friends" shows aired, introducing brand new sets, all new children, and new characters. In April 1998, "Barney's Great Adventure - The Movie" launched in theaters everywhere. 1999, Lyric Studios celebrates the first 10 years with Barney. |
